Le titre de cette installation fait écho à la fresque de Jacopo Zucchi, peinte en 1576 à la Villa Médicis, représentant une pergola luxuriante peuplée d’oiseaux. Véritable encyclopédie en volume, elle disparaît pendant plus d’un siècle, pour être redécouverte dans les années 1980. Une nuée de cerfs-volants-oiseaux en textiles recyclés volent dans l'ancien mazet vigneron. Réalisés collectivement lors d’ateliers de rue menés par Clémentine Chambon pendant le festival L’Expo de Ouf, ils ont été accrochés dans le ciel de Nîmes, affrontant les intempéries pendant plusieurs mois. Abîmés et méconnaissables, ils ont été réparés pendant de longues heures, avec soin et patience, nous rappelant sans cesse combien le plus précieux est parfois le plus fragile.
L’installation se déploie sur la façade du mazet, où Clémentine Chambon prolonge l’œuvre originale de Camille Rousseau - un maillage de ceps de vignes - par des fragments textiles collectés et noués, formant un immense plumage — un oiseau totem symbolisant la fragilité de notre écosystème.
Jadis, disait-on, détruire un nid annonçait le chaos.

The title of this installation echoes Jacopo Zucchi’s fresco, painted in 1576 at the Villa Medici, depicting a lush pergola teeming with birds. A true three-dimensional encyclopedia, it disappeared for over a century before being rediscovered in the 1980s. A swarm of bird-shaped kites made from recycled textiles flies through the old vineyard cottage (mazet). Created collectively during street workshops led by Clémentine Chambon as part of the festival L’Expo de Ouf, they were hung in the skies of Nîmes, enduring the elements for several months. Damaged and unrecognizable, they were patiently and carefully restored over long hours — a constant reminder that the most precious things are often the most fragile.
The installation unfolds on the façade of the mazet, where Clémentine Chambon extends Camille Rousseau’s original work — a mesh of vine stocks — with textile fragments, collected and knotted together to form a vast plumage: a totem bird symbolizing the fragility of our ecosystem. In times past, it was said that to destroy a nest was to invite chaos.
